The biggest trends in fashion today are ones no one wants to be seen in. They include vastly increased clothing production and declining use, massive levels of waste and more greenhouse gas emissions than international shipping and flights combined.

In the last 15 years, the industry has doubled production, while the time clothing is worn before it is thrown away has fallen by around 40%. When it is thrown away, 73% will be burned or buried in the landfill. What does get collected for recycling – around 12% – will likely end up being shredded and used to stuff mattresses, or made into insulation or cleaning cloths. Less than 1% of what is collected will be used to make new clothing.

These trends are not only damaging the environment, but they are also limiting the opportunities for the fashion industry to succeed in the long-term. The industry already misses out on $560 billion in value from clothing being worn less and barely recycled.

Thanks to the innovative recycling technology, we can now recycle cotton and polyester materials in both pre/post consumed textiles.

PRODUCT INNOVATION & APPLICATION

WAGAS X REMAKEHUB

A fully closed-loop solution for uniform waste named "ZERO WASTE UNIFORM TM" was successfully applied by WAGAS, which is a famous healthy restaurant chain.

REMAKEHUB has collected discarded cotton made uniforms from WAGAS and turned them into new recycled cotton uniforms to prevent textile waste end up in the landfill. The material was made from 46% recycled cotton, 46% BCI cotton and 8% ELS. We also provide GRS certification along with each recycling project.

DBS BANK X REMAKEHUB

DBS, one of the world's most valuable banks, recently released the 'Trash Princess' initiative that confronts viewers with startling information about the fashion industry including the fact that it's the second-largest polluter in the world -- only second to the oil industry.

As part of its effort to create a sustainable world, DBS ordered discarded cloth recycled hoodies for their employees in order to educate them in fashion sustainability.

TEDx zizhu park has joined the sustainability movement by providing discarded cloth made TOTE bags to their audiences in events.

REMAKEHUB provides recycled plastic bottle made T-shirts for event use. In the last few years, we have recycled more than 150,000 pieces of plastic bottles for TOP 500 FORTUNE companies.
